In short, the mountains offer something for everyone, even those that are not so inclined to a long hike. The development of the Bucegi area has made it a constant draw, both for tourists as well as locals looking to get out of Bucharest or Brasov for the weekend. Even with a large number of visitors, there is plenty of room for everyone and a great mountain experience can still be found with relative ease.The Bucegi Natural Park is a protected area of national interest, in the territories of the counties Dambovita, Prahova and Brasov.
It has a total area of 32.663 ha, of which 16.334 ha are within the county Dambovita, maximum altitude of park is reached in the Omu Peak (2.505 m).
The  park, has a great importance by the beauty of the landscape: canyons, sinkholes, ditches, rocky cliffs, waterfalls, caves and scree.
Bucegi Natural Park houses a rich population of carnivores: bear, wolf, lynx, fox, wild cat but also chamois, carpathian stag, bats, deer, wild pigs, birds of pray: golden eagle, northern goshawk, hawk, common buzzard, kestrel red, saker falcon, peregrine falcon, asio.The development of agro-tourism hotels and chalets makes the area of Bucegi Natural Park to be a recreational place, as they say, a “green” tourism.
In the time spent on area of Bucegi Natural Park you can practice horse riding (riding), hiking, cycling, fishing, or enjoy the nature in its true splendor.
